I used this app exclusively to train for my first 1/2 marathon.
Positives: After a few runs, I was able to figure out how to use it as I needed it. I like the journal feature and that you can adjust training dates to when you can do them. I also liked he add on Run Helper feature very much. I saved these in an email file and was able to easily see my progress in graph form. I also liked the simple graphics and the intuitiveness of the app.
Negatives: Ditto the review that noted the play list wouldnt start consistently. Sometimes it would start with the training, but more often than not I would have to start my run, go to the volume alert, set that to high and then go back and choose my playlist. In addition, I would often have to repeat these steps because the music volume would drop in half after the split info or when one of Hals motivators came on. This was annoying but I still really liked this app...
...until race day. I Could Not get the app OR music to start for what felt like an eternity. In all fairness, it was only 3 minutes. And not to sound whiny, because I know I could have just used my playlist and run the race-but I had become used to seeing my splits, pace, etc. so the idea of not having it while I was waiting to start was anxiety provoking.
But that wasnt the only surprise this app had in store for me! I came up to the 8 mile sign post and was feeling tired, but good! Wasnt paying attention to see if there were more mile sign posts (Im sure there were), so Im cruising along and it says I am at 12.9 miles! Im almost done! Ive got this! ...and I turned a corner and there was the 12 MILE SIGN POST!!
The app had miscalculated by .9 MILES! Previous to this, it had always calculated correctly-so I never even thought to track this. I did finished the race-but at that moment I was totally defeated and wanted to cry.
I think this app has a lot of great features, but some serious bugs that need to be addressed.
